This is a picture of me and the rest of the team. Originally our Senior Pastor Vern Bosserman, was going on the trip plus another great guy from our church leadership team (similar to a church board) Jay Mumper. The Senior Pastor had to withdraw from the trip due to the fact that one of our other pastors, Josh Nolt, relocated to Toronto, Ontario to start a new church. Then two weeks before we were to leave, Jay was diagnosed with a detached retina in his eye. He was not allowed to fly for 8 weeks. So to make a long story short, Deb Stafford our church care coordinator and administrative assistant, and Becky Bruckner a member of our church and a top notched photographer and writer joined our team. Wow did God know what he was doing with these last minute additions to our team! Both Deb and Becky were a real inspiration to us and the people we visited when we did home visitations. I hope to follow their lead in being able to relate to strangers that you do not know and to touch their hearts with your love and compassion and sharing scripture with those poor, poor individuals. Becky's picture taking was phenomenal. Anyone can take pictures, but she has the talent to really capture the moment. She is an excellent inspirational writer so I look forward to her insight as we write the vision for our church that God has unfolded in front of us. If you would like to be inspired I invite you to read Becky's Blog at www.bgracegallery.blogspot.com.
God has called each one of us in his or her own unique circumstance, but all of us felt the call. Besides Deb and Becky God really knew what he was doing when he called Wil Sauder (an engineer), Luke Mumper (a 14 year old student), Greg Starr ( our Associate Pastor), and myself (a GM for a nationwide wholesale building products distributor). Our hearts have been touched and we will never again be the same people we were before we left. Praise be to God for changing lives and for his undying love for mankind.
