A Smile - as simple as getting a new outfit to wear

It is miraculous! Most of the children we met were literally wearing rags! The clothes that were taken off of many of them, you would not even be able to use to wash your car. They would just fall apart. So at this care center some of the women in our group brought some slightly used clothing with them and set up a small area where they could try to fit the kids with a new outfit. As you can see from this little girl, the hair styles between boys and girls are most of the time identical. They literally could not tell with some of the children whether they were boys or girls. They did not want to make any wrong assumptions. Most of the time it wasn't until they removed the old clothes that they could tell the sex of the child.

As you can see from this little girl's smile, there is magic in a new, clean outfit. She came out of the room just beaming from ear to ear. Our church is in the final stages of filling a 20 foot shipping container with mainly clothing, shoes, school supplies, etc. I cannot wait for this to arrive and for the clothing to get distributed.

In America, most of us have so many outfits and a lot of times we share so little. I know my outlook has totally changed. I hope I can share and share and share for all of the remaining days of my life! Thank you Lord for opening my eyes, and especially for allowing me to meet and connect with so many of these beautiful children.
